Nothern Lights Painting Lesson |Children’s Book Sugguestions

Hello,

Today, I’d like to introduce two children’s books that I truly enjoy for their captivating storytelling and insights into the Northern Lights. While working on curriculum development for an Alaskan school district, I came across a fantastic resource for ordering books related to this region called Inhabit Books. You can find these books by searching their names on the site and make a purchase there.

These children’s books are particularly special because they have the potential to inspire painting to explore the enchanting world of the Northern Lights. Featuring beautiful illustrations, interesting facts, and spiritual stories from diverse cultures.

In addition, I’m excited to share two video tutorials below from my free art subscription. These tutorials provide a step-by-step guide to a simple painting lesson on creating the Northern Lights with watercolor paints. You’ll learn a basic technique called wax resist. The tutorial also includes a list of materials needed for the activity.

The second video is a demonstration showcasing the art of blending paint colors and how to teach children this skill. I’ll be sharing my banding and blending technique.
