Kids Art For Ukraine

We have all heard it everywhere on television, radio, and internet. And so have our children!

Art activities can help children scared or worried about Ukraine.

Art making plays a very important role in supporting emotions for children.

We can help children by supporting them with art that can help communicate hard feelings.

You will also get insight to how they are processing these feelings.

This can lead to safe open honest conversations giving them a sense of safety.

Art gives children the opportunity to cope and express hard things.

Art can also help us cope together.

If you have not had a discussion about war and peace you might want to ask children if they have heard about Ukraine.

Professional art therapists recommend to stay calm, open and honest and be sure to explain they are safe.

I work with a non-profit organization called Muramid in San Diego.

This mural company sends out healing murals to people in war, or after a tragic event painted by the community.

These murals give us the sense of sending our support and love when we feel helpless.

I know when I’ve come together with a group of loving people to paint a mural it has been therapy for me.
