Clay Play | Kids Art | Modeling | Good Tactile Sensory Play

By Spramani Elaun

It’s becoming increasingly important for young kids to have good sensory tactile sensory play opportunities in their early years.

Almost all art-making requires using direct touch to construct, build, or express.

Without sensory tactile opportunities, a child can miss out on important spatial learning and healthy brain development.

I recommend that kids have lots of experiences touching and feeling through sensory tactile art-making projects.

Clay play and modeling can provide good tactile sensory fun.

In my book “Clay Play,” I discuss how beneficial modeling clay is and how it provides good tactile sensory play in much more detail.

I go even deeper into this topic on why tactile clay is important for brain development.

I’ve had the rare opportunity to observe well over 200,000 children experience sensory art-making over the last thirty years as an art instructor.
